Women's Rainbow Circle

Our local chapter of the American Baptist Women's Ministries (ABWM) — the Rainbow Circle — meets on the third Monday of each month at noon for lunch together, great fellowship, inspiration, and often work on a missions project.

In the past few months, for example, you can see us:

  • Roll bandages for our hospitals in Zaire. We take old sheets, tear them into strips, sew them end-to-end, and then roll them to standard links for use in mission hospitals. Here in the US we take one-time use bandages for granted. But in third-world countries, they can use bandages again and again by washing and sterilizing them after each use. In 2009 we sent out hundreds of pounds/rolls/boxes of bandages.

  • Package Christmas presents for the Seafarers Ministry of the Golden Gate, a Christian ministry to seamen whose ships dock in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • Take field trips to visit closer mission projects, such as United Christian Centers in West Sacramento.

  •

We also work to raise money each year for our annual Love Gift to provide extra help for ministries in the US and abroad.

Of course, it's not all work. Part of our time we just spend enjoying one another. Give the Rainbow Circle a try. We'd love to have you join us.
