Pastor Roland Meyer
Roland Meyer began serving as pastor of First Baptist Church on September 1, 2013.
Roland is a graduate of Bear River High School and holds degrees from California State University, Sacramento and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.
Roland's experience is widespread, from teaching Bible studies to helping in disaster relief. Before coming to First Baptist he served as Assistant Pastor at Mission Beth'el Church in Grass Valley. He has a love for people, a heart for evangelism, and a passion to teach the Word of God.
In August of 2014 Roland married Andrea Devitt. In November of 2015 their first child, Samuel, was born. In September of 2017 their second child, Nathanael, was born.
Nancy was born in the California Bay Area in 1959. Her family moved to Nevada County in 1964 and began attending First Baptist Church of Nevada City. She attended Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, was baptized at First Baptist, and was a member of the Youth Group affiliated with this church. She also began teaching Sunday School at the age of 13. After attending Whitworth College (BA in Religion) in Spokane, Washington in 1981, she returned to First Baptist as the youth director; later she became the church secretary. In 1989 she went to visit friends in Anchorage, Alaska, and decided to stay for 24 years. While living in Alaska she worked as a church secretary, mission apartment manager, receptionist, American Heart Association Training Center Coordinator, and administrative assistant for three different entities. She returned to California in 2013 to be closer to family and through a strange series of events has come full circle to become, once again, the secretary at First Baptist Church of Nevada City.
