Making Disciples of Christ in Nevada County and Around the World.
To prepare God's people through worship, the study of God's Word, and prayer to live pure and holy lives, to show compassion to the hurting, and to reach out in love to bring to Christ those who do not know Him as Lord and Savior.
What We Believe
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word and that it is completely true and authoritative in all that it affirms.
We believe in one God who is revealed as Father, Son, and Spirit.
We believe Jesus Christ is God’s Son and that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, and rose to life, thereby triumphing over sin and death.
We believe all have sinned and are deserving of God’s judgment. Therefore God, who is rich in mercy and desires all to be saved, sent His Son Jesus to die on a cross for the sins of the world. If anyone places faith in Christ that person receives forgiveness of sins and the gifts of the Holy Spirit and everlasting life. Fellowship with God, the desire to obey Christ’s teachings, and the pursuit toward a holy and pure life now consumes the child of God.
We observe two ordinances:
In baptism we are symbolically buried with Christ in His death in order to be raised and to walk with Him in newness of life.
In the Lord’s Supper we partake of the elements of bread and cup, which represent His broken body and shed blood, and remember His death while looking forward to His glorious return.
We believe marriage is a picture of Christ and His church and is the uniting of one man with one woman in a lifetime covenant. Sexual intimacy is to be enjoyed only within marriage.
We believe all children of God are equally valuable and uniquely gifted to serve in the body of Christ. We joyfully endeavor to build one another up as we make Christ known in the world.
